Ms. Chatfield worked with Georgia Tech on the development of the Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain (SLS) beginning in August 2014 as the Project Management consultant, when SLS was selected as the Institute’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). Since December 2015, she has served as the Program and Operations Manager for SLS. Serve-Learn-Sustain (SLS) is a campus-wide academic initiative preparing students to use their disciplinary expertise to “create sustainable communities” in partnership with community, nonprofit, business, and academic stakeholders.
In her capacity as the Program and Operations Manager, Ms. Chatfield is responsible for all operational and financial logistics for the Center. In addition, she coordinates all student facing programs, specifically the SLS Summer Internship Program, the Innovating for Social Impact Program, Student Advising, and the SLS Student Fellows Program.
Ms. Chatfield also serves on the Leadership Circle for RCE Greater Atlanta – a Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development - officially acknowledged in 2017 by the United Nations University, with a special focus on youth engagement. She also serves on the Steering Committee for the RCE Americas.
Before coming to Georgia Tech, Ms. Chatfield worked as an independent project management consultant. Earlier in her career, she specialized in healthcare marketing and management before making the transition to other industries. Ms. Chatfield received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia, and has also completed the Project Management Certificate program through Georgia Tech Professional Education.
