Econ 4311 examine the activities and strategies of multinational corporations (MNCs), the role of global trade and investment regulations on the decisions of these firms, and their impact on communities and sustainability. We will better understand the impact of MNCs on communities, regions and nations by studying local global linkages, global supply chains and the role of corporate social responsibility. The group project will examine the impact of global pharmaceutical and agribusiness corporations on community health and sustainability. Students will also engage with individuals from industry and local communities to understand the operations, strategies and impact of global firms on local communities.
