The Engineering for Social Innovation (ESI) Center serves as a channel for engineering students to use technical skills for positive social impact. The ESI Center partners with non-profit organizations to provide free labor and domain expertise. The Center also works with for-profit firms to help them gain a competitive advantage through meeting social needs that align with their mission.

This course is part of the Vertically Integrated Projects program, where students get credit for working on ongoing projects over multiple semesters. The Engineering for Social Innovation VIP team teaches sustainability through hands-on projects that serve the global community.
