This past Spring semester, students in Ravi Subramanian's Business Decisions for Sustainability and Shared Value course embarked on a project with partner Garry Harris, Managing Director of the Center for Sustainable Communities. Working in teams, students researched, developed, and proposed creative development plans for a challenged neighborhood of over 5,000 homes and 17,000 residents in South Hampton Roads, Virginia. This neighborhood is the focus of a revitalization project, ECO District Hampton Roads, which aims to foster community, increase prosperity, and promote health and well-being.
