This GT 1000 course is focused on Equitable & Sustainable Development as part of the Sustainable Communities summer session track. Student will learn to evaluate how decisions impact the sustainability of communities.
Jamie White-Jones joined the Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain in 2015. In her capacity as Senior Administrative Professional, she coordinates Payroll and HR related functions, assists with the department budget, and process all business related transactions to include purchasing and accounts payable. Ms. Jones is also responsible for department event logistics and day to day operations of the office. Before coming to the Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain, she worked for the Georgia Tech’s Department of Housing where she was responsible for Payroll and HR related functions, numerous vendor accounts and maintaining a facility maintenance database that processed thousands of residential requests.
Ms. Jones was selected as a new face of inclusive excellence in 2018 for Georgia Tech’s Institute of Diversity, for teaching an SLS-affiliated section of GT 1000 course titled Equitable & Sustainable Development, which she plans to teach every summer. Earlier in her career, she specialized in academic advising, recruitment & retention and was an adjunct instructor at several other colleges and universities.
Ms. Jones received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in Humanities from Grambling State University and a Master of Education in Advanced Studies with a discipline in Higher Education from the American College of Education.
