ESW Hydroponics/Urban Farming Project

Spring 2016

Public Service Pathway Spring 2016 Awardee

The Hydroponics/Urban Farming Project, overseen by GT Engineers for a Sustainable World organization members, experiments with different ways to grow produce in urban areas using limited space and water resources. We investigate both soil-based and hydroponic methods of growing in order to find the most efficient, economically viable, and environmentally sustainable way to grow produce in Atlanta. These ideas are then shared with the community of urban farmers in Atlanta in hopes to strengthen the local food movement and to provide more healthy and nutritious food to those in need, especially to the food desert areas of Atlanta.
