This spring, students from Dr. Teresa Snow's SLS-affiliated Scientific Foundations of Health course had the opportunity to work on a project with the Friends School, East Decatur Greenway (EDG), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). East Decatur Greenway was recently awarded a grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, to remove invasive plant species from the rain garden and greenspace adjacent to the Friends School that EDG had previously created. As part of the grant award, EDG agreed to match the grant with an equal amount of in-kind services, including volunteer hours. Students from Dr. Snow's course participated in multiple projects associated with the grant. Please click below to access the full article on the grant project in the Friends School newsletter.
