Join SLS and Civic Engagement for one of two MLK Day of Service projects: with the West Atlanta Land Trust or with Friends of Refugees. The 8th annual MLK Day of Service continues Dr. King's legacy by fostering the national holiday's spirit of "A Day On, Not A Day Off" while also honoring the Georgia Tech motto: "Progress & Service."
Project 1: Westside Atlanta Land Trust
HELP Org Inc seeks to improve the quality of life of in-place residents by mobilizing its community-driven land trust program, Westside Atlanta Land Trust, affectionately called WALT by its members. The mission of WALT is to organize the community's power for self-determination. For more information about WALT, visit http://www.helporginc.org/walt-2015.html.
