Strategy Overview:

SLS activities were enhanced through funding of three projects in the fall and two in the spring. In each case, faculty aligned their proposals in relation to specific goals in the College’s Strategic Plan. 

  • Goal: Increasing community engagement via the design studio curriculum‚Äč (Project: BC8803: Design-build Women's Shelter; Frank Wickstead)
  • Goal: Be the leader in digital technologies for design and construction of sustainable built environments (Project: ARCH4803: Green Infrastructure: EPA Campus Rainwater Challenge; Richard Dagenhart, Tom Debo, John Koon, Jason Gregory)
  • Goal: Build upon existing strengths in transportation, energy, and urban design (Project: Affordable Urban Housing Summit; Michael Gamble)
  • Goal: Build a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment (Project: Guest Lecturer for CP2333: Sustainable Urban Development; William Drummond)
  • Goal: Be the premier institution for technology-focused design education (Project: Community input to ARCH8903: DoE Race to Zero Competition; Jason Brown)
